Today, Jan. 22 marks the 40th anniversary of a grave injustice, Roe v Wade, the Supreme Court's decision responsible for the slaughter of 55 million unborn babies in this country. When will our country finally wake up and realize that abortion is America's holocaust, and that by destroying a large part of our next generation, we are destroying our own future? This is killing on such a massive scale that many Americans can't comprehend the depth of what is happening. Despite this tragedy, advocates of life have worked hard for 40 years to help save the precious lives and rights of unborn babies and help those in crisis pregnancies in our area and this country.
Right to Life of Delta County and many others in our community are remembering this day of infamy. Locally a signature ad is in the Daily Press today and a special billboard located on US 2 and 41 near Anderson Tire is up during January with the message "Roe v Wade: 40 years too long and 55 million too many." Other special events included; a "march for life" held on Sunday that started at All Saints Church in Gladstone and was sponsored by the KC's Council 6667 in Gladstone, the march for life pilgrimage bus trip from the U.P. to Washington D.C., a Respect Life prayer service with the youth at St. Anne's Church, Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 7 p.m., a Rally for Life at Holy Name School, Thursday, Jan. 24, at 1 p.m. and the community prayer service on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at St. Joseph/St. Patrick Church at 6 p.m.
May God bless you all for your continued support and efforts for life.
