Elsie L. Clark

ESCANABA - Elsie L. Clark, 70, 6074 G.5 Rd, Escanaba, passed away early Tuesday morning, Jan. 15, 2013, at her home following a lengthy illness with cancer.

She was born on July 24, 1941, in Stephenson, the daughter of Harvey and Marcella (Olson) Kasbohm. Elsie attended school in Stephenson. She lived throughout the U.P. due to her father's employment.

On Aug. 31, 1963, the former Elsie L. Kasbohm married Antone "Tony" Clark at St. Francis Xavier Parish in Spalding.

Elsie was employed at Roubal Nursing Home in Stephenson, Pinecrest Medical Care Facility and six years at Island Resort and Casino.

She enjoyed bingo, going to the casino, and having lunch with her sisters, being with her family, and crocheting. She was also a caregiver and enjoyed babysitting.

Elsie was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Bark River.

She is survived by her husband, Tony of Escanaba; children, Charles (Lori) Clark of Cornell, Rose (Dana) Cayer of Nebraska, Thomas Clark of Escanaba and Stephen (Sarah) Clark of Escanaba; four grandchildren, Brandy Clark, Dayna Cayer, Candace Cayer and Kyle Sundberg; special niece, Patty (Brian) Boudreau of Charlotte, N.C.; sisters, Barbara (William) Couillard of Escanaba, Betty (Larry) Schaner of Covington, Wash., Kathy (Robert Fraley of Marquette, Dorothy Thorban of Escanaba, Janice (Ken) Quennell of Ishpeming, Jackie (Tom) Cory of Powers and Terry O'Dell of Escanaba; two brothers, Harvey Jr. (Karen) Kasbohm and John (Joan) Kasbohm, all of Nadeau; and many nieces and nephews.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Myrtle Anderson.

Visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 18, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Bark River with Rev. Paul Nomillini and Rev. Paul Schiska concelebrating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Burial will be in Bark River Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Clark family with arrangements.
