Mark Lynch and Garret McMillian, both members of Boy Scout Troop 411 of Escanaba, are pictured at last year's bottle and can drive conducted by their troop. Scouts from Troop 411 will again conduct a bottle and can drive as a fund-raiser on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Scouts and leaders will be in uniform and collecting bottles and cans at Elmer's County Market, Super One Foods, and at Wal-Mart. All of the funds raised at the bottle and can drive stay in Escanaba with the Troop. The funds along with the annual popcorn sale are the major funding sources for the troop. The funds help the Troop provide a quality program to the boys, and help fund events like going to: Camp Hiawatha, Mackinac Island Service Camp, National Youth Leadership Training and many more. Area residents are asked to save up their returnables to help support the area Boy Scouts. The Scouts will also have a donation can available to those who do not have cans or bottles to donate. For more information about the drive or to arrange for pick-up service is asked to call Scoutmaster Gene Williams at (906) 399-7602.
