Richard Wurth

ISHPEMING - Richard Wurth, 79, 200 Saginaw St., Ishpeming, passed away on Wednesday morning, Dec. 26, 2012, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming. He was born on Nov. 3, 1933, in Escanaba, son of Nicholas and Margaret (Buchholtz) Wurth. Richard graduated from St. Joseph High School in Escanaba.

On April 15, 1955, Richard married the former Rita Milkovich at St Joseph's Church in Escanaba.

Richard served in the Michigan National Guard.

Richard worked as a cement truck driver for Brown Concrete and was batch plant operator for Wurth Concrete and Bacco Construction. In 1999, he retired from Associated Concrete in Marquette. He was a member of St. Joseph and St. Patrick Catholic Church in Escanaba.

Among survivors include his children, Connie (John) Bookshaw of Big Rapids, Mich., Rick (Sue) Wurth of South Australia, Dave (Jodi) Wurth of Ishpeming, Mary (Bryan) Pepp of Marquette, and Paul (Lori) Wurth of Appleton, Wis.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita; parents; and three brothers and a sister, Joe Wurth, Earl Wurth, Lawrance Wurth, and Eleanor Hazen.

Visitation will be on Saturday, Dec. 29, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon at St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church in Escanaba. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Wurth family with arrangements.
