This is a thank you to the Escanaba Daily Press and to Dan Paul, the administrator at the Menominee Catholic Elementary School. The last two days I, as a great-grandmother, went to the elementary school here in Escanaba to attend the children's' Christmas programs (or are they called holiday programs as all the TV programs seem to say now) and immensely enjoyed all the fancy little dresses, shirts, ties, etc. and the enthusiasm with which the little ones sang about Santa and sleighs and so on. One little girl, standing in the front row grinned and smiled all the while, and what a joy it was to watch all the children. they enjoyed the songs and watched the singing teacher for directions and certainly are looked forward to Christmas.
But, you know already what I missed, even "A Little Town in Bethlehem" would have been nice (but, yes, I know, someone would have found fault), but I want to thank Dan Paul for his article in Wednesday's Press and I also want to thank the Escanaba Daily Press for allowing the article, too, for Mr. Paul told a heartfelt story about a little girl and he ended the article with this, and I quote: "So during this holiday season, let us all commit ourselves to make a difference in others' lives. Remember, Jesus is the reason for the season. A very Merry Christmas from the Paul family to all." And, also from Bob and I.
