Lorraine Marie Curran

ESCANABA - Lorraine Marie Curran, 86, Escanaba, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, with her loving family by her side at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba. She was born on June 28, 1926, in Green Bay, Wis., the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Jolicoeur.

On March 17, 1950, she married the late John W. Curran in Escanaba.

Lorraine was an active member of St. Thomas Church in Escanaba, serving in the Altar Society and as a greeter. She was a 1944 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Lorraine worked at Venus and Solar Furniture, many years in the grocery business at A & P and Elmers Super Value and also at Pryal's Drug Store for 11 years.

She is survived by two sons, G. Kevin (Debbie) Curran of Niagra, Wis., and Mark Curran of Destin, Fla.; one daughter, Connie (Mike) Cousineau of Escanaba; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Nicholas, Michael, Jeremy, Stephen, Monique and Marissa; seven great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Sept. 8, 1987; a son, John Brian Curran on Nov. 6, 1966; three sisters, Helen (Lester) Paulin, Olive (Art) Giroux and Anna Jolicoeur; and one brother, Fr. Fabian Jolicoeur.

Friends may call from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church with Fr. Rick Courier officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church parish hall.
