Wells Lions Treasurer Ernie Gustafson, at right, presents a $1,000 check from the club to the Delta County Cancer Alliance, represented by Alliance President Cheri Severinsen. The money was raised by passing the hat to Wells Lions Club members at various club Christmas festivities with a 100 percent match from the club. Each year the club votes to give the money to a local nonprofit, community organization. This effort was above and beyond the club's annual donations to St. Vincent de Paul and the Salvation Army.
