ESCANABA - The Escanaba Downtown Partners in Businesses is sponsoring an event happening throughout downtown Escanaba Friday until 9 p.m. Professional, service and retail businesses are coming together to create a night to remember, organizers said. Music will be playing along Ludington Street, and Salvation Army kettles will be stationed in the corners of 13th and Ludington Street, and 10th and Ludington Street. The bells will be rung by professionals and service business owners in downtown.
"The Escanaba Downtown Partners in Businesses" wanted to create an atmosphere where people bring their children and enjoy Christmas shopping. You know, like the old times," said Peggy Schumann, owner of Positively! The Center for Success, located in Downtown Escanaba. "Escanaba has a great downtown tradition, and we want to maintain this tradition. We want to create new memories for the next generation and help adults relive what they remember. Even though we remember the Fair Store and Neisners, they will reminisce about the stores they visit now with their parents."
The event will include retail discounts, music, and more and will include stores and restaurants from the Victorian Gift House to Avant Garden near Northern Motors.
