DEWEY - Former Escanaba residents, Dave and Cathy Dewey of Petoskey, welcomed a daughter, their first child, born at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital on Oct. 25 at 9:59 a.m. Norah Rose weighed in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 19.5 inches long.

The mother is the former Cathy Dwyer.

Ed and Crystal Dwyer of Escanaba, Sharon Dewey of Wells, and Rick Dewey of Gladstone are Norah's grandparents.

FINNERTY - Laylah Marie is the name chosen for the newborn daughter of Harley Finnerty and Amber Svihl of Escanaba. Laylah was delivered at OFS St. Francis Hospital on Dec. 5 at 1:40 p.m. She weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 18 inches long.

She joins brother, Trevor Joseph, at home.

Laylah's maternal grandparents are Lisa Wickstrom, Mary and Vince Svihl, and Paul Strom, all of Escanaba. Her paternal grandparents are Cindy Perryman and Bob Davis, also of Escanaba.

Great-grandparents are Sally and Earl McNally and Judy Mashino of Gladstone.

PRAY - On Dec. 8 at 1:27 a.m., Escanaba residents David and Gloria (Kelsey) Pray welcomed their third child, Lundin Ann, at OSF St. Francis Hospital. Lundin weighed 9 pounds, 12.8 ounces, and measured 20.5 inches long at birth.

She joins big sisters, Lilly and Laila, at home.

The baby's grandparents are Darin and Janet Kelsey of Escanaba and Daniel and Janet Pray of Gladstone.

Lundin's great-grandparents are Fred and Alberta Kelsey of Mount Pleasant, Beverly Schmidt of Sun City, Ariz., and Kathryn Pray of West Branch.

SORENSEN - Rapid River residents Matthew and Sarah (Johnson) Sorensen welcomed a baby boy, their first child, born at Marquette General Hospital on Nov. 12 at 9:20 p.m. Johnathon Matthew weighed in at 7 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 19.25 inches long.

A.J. "John" and Shari Johnson III of Rapid River and Kenneth and Pamela Sorensen of Little Lake are Johnathon's grandparents.

Great-grandparents are Janet Johnson and David and Debbie Griggs Sr., all of Rapid River, Judith Lacosse of Gladstone, Richard and Carol Sorensen of Little Lake, and James and Barbara Richards of New Albin, Iowa.
