Edgar Allan Poe contest winners named

Escanaba High School has announced the winners of the third annual Edgar Allan Poe Writing Contest. According to Cody Fleming, English teacher and writing contest coordinator, the entries were better than ever this year. For the second year in a row, Marissa LaPorte claimed victory - this year with her story, "When Darkness Falls." The four finalists will have their work published for the public to read at The winners are: from left, Justin Snyder (runner-up), Evan Murray (runner-up), Eli Mai (second place), Marissa LaPorte (first place), and Cody Fleming.
