ESCANABA - Twenty-five students of accounting teacher, Cheri Lehto at the Escanaba High School, were treated to a recent presentation by Captain Jeff Davis, 1979 EHS graduate, and captain in the US Navy, fighter pilot, who now works for the Pentagon.

Captain Davis chose to come to the high school to talk to the students about what it takes to be a leader and how important education is now and in the future. Captain Davis gave his presentation as a way to give back to the community where he grew up.

He used his experiences in the Navy and his fighter pilot training to show kids that leadership and integrity play an important role now and in the future.

Students were engrossed in Captain Davis's stories of training to be a fighter pilot and stories of his missions and landing on aircraft carriers. He was able to tie all of this to the importance of education and making good choices now and the impact they can have in the future.

"It was a great experience for the students at EHS and will not soon be forgotten," said Lehto.
