ESCANABA - The Delta County Historical Society's annual Christmas Bake Sale at the Museum on Saturday will be held this year at the historic DeGrand House at 1925 5th Ave. South.
Because of the construction of the new museum at the Sand Point Lighthouse Complex, DCHS member and friend Wendy Pepin offered the century-old DeGrand house as an alternate site for the annual event. Donors and customers are invited to tour the restored Foursquare brick house during sale hours.
Donations of cookies, breads, candies and other homemade items are requested for the sale and will be accepted beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday. Sale hours are from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Proceeds support the museum and lighthouse.
The traditional Christmas Open House at the Sand Point Lighthouse on Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 26 and 27, will not be affected by the museum construction.
For more information about either the bake sale or the open house, contact the Delta County Historical Society at 789-6790 or Darolyn at 786-0831.
