Parking restrictions begin Saturday

ESCANABA - Winter parking restriction will begin Saturday in both Escanaba and Gladstone.


In Escanaba parking will be restricted to one side of every street and avenue in the city from 7 a.m. until 2 a.m. according to the following schedule:

Parking will be allowed only on the west side of all streets.

Parking will be allowed only on the north side of all avenues.

No vehicle is allowed to be parked longer than a half-hour on any street or avenue in the city between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.

On Ludington Street and the 100 blocks off Ludington Street, parking will be allowed on both sides of the street with the exception of South 15th Street, South 16th Street, South 17th Street, South 18th Street, South 19th Street, and South 22nd Street.

The Escanaba parking restrictions remain in place until April 1.


In Gladstone, winter parking restrictions are put into place to ensure the safe flow of traffic within the city, along with the safe and efficient removal of snow from the city streets. The restrictions are:

No parking at any time on the south side of any avenue and on the west side of any street.

No overnight parking on either side of the avenues or streets between 3:30 and 6:30 a.m.

All vehicles left on the streets listed here between 3:30 and 6:30 a.m. are in a tow away zone and will be towed away at the owners expense. Streets are Delta Avenue from 6th Street to 14th Street; 8th Street from Superior Avenue to Minnesota Avenue; 9th Street from Superior Avenue to Minnesota Avenue; 10th Street from Superior Avenue to Lake Shore Drive; 11th Street from Superior Avenue to Minnesota Avenue.

Any violation will result in a parking ticket being issued with a fine of $20 per violation plus the costs of any towing expense.

Effective Saturday, no parking is allowed from 7 until 10 a.m. on school days only, Dec. 1 through April 1, in the 300 and 400 block of 10th Street, which is from Michigan Avenue to Montana Avenue. Any vehicles parking in violation of the restrictions will be ticketed with a fine of $20 being assessed to the owner of vehicle.

Gladstone's parking restrictions are also in place through April 1.
