David A. Walker

CORNELL - David A. Walker, 48, 3538 County 426 24th Rd, Cornell, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 19, at his home.

He was born on July 7, 1964 in Blytheville, Ark., son of Idus and Inetha (Hale) Walker. David graduated from Osceola High School in Arkansas. On Feb. 13, 1993, David married Kelley Collins in Salem, Missouri.

For three years, David was employed as a human resources and loss prevention assistant manager at A.M. Express in Escanaba. It was at work a little less than two years ago that David had heart failure. With the assistance of some co-workers, David was revived and had the opportunity to share two more years with his wife and family.

He spent most of his career as an EMT and a radio personality. David was a volunteer firefighter and enjoyed attending Grace Church in Gladstone.

Among survivors include his wife, Kelley of Cornell; son, Jeffrey Walker of Arkansas; two stepdaughters, Jamie Peterson of Everett, Wa., and Hannah Bockholt of Davenport, Iowa; two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Alexis; and half sister, Jeanette of Osceola, Ark.

David was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. At 6 p.m. friends and family will have an opportunity to share memories about David. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the David Walker Memorial Fund, Delta County Credit Union.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Walker family with arrangements.
