ESCANABA - Leonard Ronald Boudreau, 77, of 5076 I.75 Lane in Escanaba, passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 17, 1935, in Escanaba, and was the son of Octave "Frenchy" and Lucille (Sabourin) Boudreau. Leonard attended St. Anne's Catholic Grade School until the eighth grade and later graduated from Escanaba High School in 1953. He attended a printing tech school in Minneapolis, before working at Shedd Brown Printing Co. in Eau Claire, Wis. In 1955, he started his 41 1/2-year career working at the Daily Press in Escanaba, retiring in November of 1996 as a foreman. Leonard R. Boudreau married the former Evonne Voigt on Sept. 2, 1961 in Escanaba. He was a member of the International Printers Association, he was an avid bowler, bowling on the Monday Night City League, he served as secretary for the bowling league, he enjoyed doing volunteer work, played in the Wells Horseshoe League and he played on the Escanaba Daily Press Baseball Team. Leonard Ronald Boudreau is survived by: wife, Evonne; sons, Ronald (Susan) Boudreau of Big Lake, Minn., Gerald (Molly) Boudreau of Appleton, Wis.; daughters, Pamela (Wally) Sliva of Escanaba, Sheri (Ray) Sanborn of Grand Haven, Mich.; eight grandchildren, Blake Sanborn, Jason Boudreau, Jennie Boudreau, Kurtis Sliva, Cassandra (Steve) Jahr, Justin Sliva, Lauren Sanborn and Ramsey Boudreau; two step-grandchildren, Savannah Gremore and Kelly Butterfield; one step-great-grandchild, Dakota Gremore; four sisters, Therese (Gary) Jenshak of Escanaba, Mildred Jenshak-Lokken of Escanaba, June (Phillip) Racine of Kentucky, Joanne (William) Flynn of Laingsburg, Mich.; two brothers, Wilfred "Sonny" (Janel) Boudreau of Escanaba, Kenneth (Nancy) Boudreau of Escanaba, mother-in-law, Sadie Olsen of Escanaba and several nieces and nephews.
