ESCANABA - After being on the run for more than a week, an Oklahoma man was arrested Wednesday in Escanaba where he remains in jail, awaiting extradition to Oklahoma, according to Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post.
The 31-year-old man was on the run and wanted in connection with a Nov. 6 kidnapping and domestic assault incident in Woods County, Oklahoma, stated troopers in a news release.
Oklahoma authorities contacted the Gladstone Post on Wednesday after tracking the suspect to Escanaba. Troopers and Escanaba Public Safety officers later located and arrested the suspect who is being held in jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond.
Other local agencies assisting in the arrest included members of the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team and the State Police 8th District Hometown Security Team.
The suspect's name is not being released, pending his arraignment.
