ESCANABA - Two Escanaba women and one Escanaba man were recently arrested following a year-long investigation into the assault of a Bark River man, according to Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post.

Ashley Marie Stodola, 20, and Alyna Caryn Brunette, 21, were arrested last month and Michael Scott Jones, 19, was arrested earlier this month in connection with the felonious assault and a home invasion in Bark River Township on Oct. 22, 2011, said troopers.

Jones was arraigned in Delta County District Court on Wednesday and charged with conspiracy to commit larceny from a person, felonious assault, and home invasion, first degree. He remains lodged in the county jail in lieu of a $10,000 cash bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary examination in district court on Nov. 27.

Stodola also remains lodged in jail. She was arraigned in district court last month and charged with conspiracy to commit larceny from a person. She waived her 14-day right to a preliminary examination which will be rescheduled.

Brunette was released from jail after posting bond. She was arraigned Oct. 12 and charged with conspiracy to commit larceny from a person. She also waived her 14-day right to a preliminary examination which will be rescheduled.

Additional charges may be forthcoming on other suspects, according to troopers.

State police were assisted during the investigation by Escanaba Public Safety and the Michigan State Police Fugitive Team.
