MANISTIQUE - The volleyball season ended for two Upper Peninsula teams Tuesday night as they fell in quarterfinal matches at the Manistique High School gym.
Calumet dropped a 3-1 (22-25, 25-13, 25-18, 25-15) decision to Traverse City St. Francis in a Class C match.
Sophomore middle hitter Ellen Twardzik led Calumet with nine kills and two digs. Outside hitter Alexis Rowe also had nine kills and senior outside hitter Kristy Lasanen added eight kills and 18 digs.

Senior setter Kayleen Anderson collected 28 assists and libero Terra Erkkila had 17 digs.
St. Francis, making its first quarterfinal appearance in 15 years, was led by senior middle hitter/blocker Bridget Bussell who finished with four service aces, 17 kills, three blocks and 20 digs. Freshman Madeline Rysztak added five aces, 10 kills and 11 digs.
Junior Megan Seida collected seven aces and 11 digs and senior Kaitlyn Hegewald distributed 37 assists for the Gladiators, who will make their first semifinal appearance Thursday against Unionville-Sebewaing in Battle Creek.
In Class D, Forest Park fell behind quickly and dropped a 25-17, 25-9, 25-13 decision to Onaway.
Junior middle hitter Lexi Gussert paced Forest Park with three aces, nine kills, four blocks and 19 digs. Senior Libero Gina Graff recorded 23 digs and senior outside hitter Mindy DeNell had 18 digs.
Onaway, making its first quarterfinal appearance, was led by junior Devin Bristely with four aces, eight kills and 16 digs. Mariah Ehrkc added three aces, nine kills, a block and 11 digs.
The Cardinals face Battle Creek St. Phillip in Friday's semifinals in Battle Creek.
