ESCANABA - One person was injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident near Escanaba Monday afternoon.
According to a press release from the Delta County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to the one-vehicle rollover one mile west of Escanaba on U.S. 2 & 41 at 1:45 p.m.
Police say the crash was the result of the driver, 19-year-old Tasha Adams, of Bark River, not seeing traffic stopped ahead of her to make a left turn. When avoiding the stopped car, she lost control of her vehicle, leaving the road and rolling several times.
Officers from Escanaba Public Safety stabilized Adams' car and, with the help of Rampart EMS personnel, extricated her from the vehicle. Adams was transported to OSF St. Francis Hospital where she was reported to be in good condition.
Also assisting at the scene were Michigan State Police.
