Charlevoix contributes to college golf team
WHITEWATER, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater golf team recently completed a successful 2012 season, taking first place at the North Chicago, Oshkosh and Whitewater tournaments.
The team had a chance to go to nationals in Florida, but lost to UW-Stout by one stroke at the WIAC tournament at Bull's Eye Country Club in Wisconsin Rapids in early October.
Among the players contributing to the strong season was Kari Charlevoix, a sophomore biology major from Escanaba.
"In my 12 years coaching golf for UW-Whitewater, it was the most successful year," said Brett Weber, head coach. "We're a family, we're together for a month and a half. I like to see them win, it makes me happy, but I want us to be better and push harder. We'll be there again next year."
