EDITOR:
One of my neighbors has hit five deer in two years. Another has hit three. I could list other examples. I have not hit any.
What is my secret? Simple - I drive the speed limit. When I do that, inevitably another vehicle comes up close behind me and tailgates for a while before roaring on around me. Sometimes they beep the horn or flash their high beams in a friendly greeting just before passing. I guess they just get to the deer before I do.
