Children at the Escanaba Public Library were treated to a special "Going Batty!" Story Hour hosted by Altrusan Club members, Karen Bartosz, Frances Michaels, and Judy Owens. Bat books donated by the club were read including Bats! by Gail Gibbons and the imaginative Bats in the Library. Children crafted bat decorations to take home and enjoyed batty cookies. A book about bats was given as a door prize and many children were seen checking out bat books following the program. Promoting literacy is one of the primary purposes of Altrusa. For more information about Altrusa, call Brenda Kinsey at (906) 384-6818.
