ESCANABA - Voters in Tuesday's election picked Ryan Holm and Mary Harrington to represent Districts 2 and 3 on the Delta County Board of Commissioners.

The Democratic incumbent Holm was victorious over Republican challenger Steve O'Driscoll by a vote of 1,984 to 1,623, according to the unofficial election results.

"I'm excited about the next two years," said Holm, of his re-election. "We have a great board and we look forward to moving things forward in Delta County."

He said he feels "honored and humbled" by the support he's received from the residents of Gladstone and Escanaba Township, and thanked his opponent O'Driscoll for running a clean campaign.

The District 2 seat on the county board represents the city of Gladstone and Escanaba Township precincts 1 and 3.

The incumbent Harrington, who also ran as a Democrat, received 1,863 votes to independent challenger Bob LaFave's 1,077. Harrington could not be reached for comment as the results came in late Tuesday night into the morning hours of Wednesday.

The District 3 commissioner represents Escanaba precinct 2, as well as both Ford River and Bark River townships.

The three remaining county commissioner seats were secured by Democratic incumbents Tom Elegeert, Dave Moyle, and Dave Rivard, who represent districts 1, 4, and 5, respectively. Each of the three ran unopposed.
