ESCANABA - Karl E. Norberg Jr., 29, of 2701 1st. Ave. S., Escanaba, passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, of natural causes in his sleep. He was born May 23, 1983, in Landstuhl, Germany, and was the son of Karl and Nancy (Viau) Norberg Sr. Karl moved to Escanaba with his family in 1994 and graduated from Escanaba High School in 2002. Karl was a gift to his family and friends. He would do whatever it would take to make friends and was an extremely social person. Karl worked at Lakestate Industries in the wood shop, worked at the Delta Plaza as a janitor, and the Willow Creek Cinema. Karl enjoyed life to the fullest and embraced it. Even with his disabilities he let nothing slow him down. He was a member of the Christ the King Lutheran Church, enjoyed watching wrestling and listening to music.

Karl E. Norberg Jr. is survived by: parents, Karl and Nancy Norberg Sr. of Escanaba; brother, Shane (Charlene) Norberg Sr. of Slinger, Wis.; four nieces and nephews, Shane Norberg Jr. of Rapid River, Lauren K. Norberg of Rapid River, Trei Norberg of Slinger, Wis., Karly Norberg of Slinger, Wis.; grandmother, Gaye Viau of Chicago; aunts, Debbie (Dave) Dayton of Westernport, Maryland, Susan Norberg of Paris, Ill.; uncles, Steve (Vicki) Viau of Escanaba, Don (Jean) Viau of Escanaba, Bob (Cathy) Viau of Chicago; several cousins and friend, Brian Kadletz of Rapid River.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Frances Viau; grandparents, Oscar and Norma Norberg; and great-grandmother, Ila Ehrenberg.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Karl E. Norberg Jr. will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Christ the King Lutheran Church with Rev. Chris Johnson officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services in the church fellowship hall. Burial will take place at a later date.
