EDITOR:
I read the adopt a shelter dog article and thought right on! My cat Woodstock Moonen Waxman isn't just a shelter cat. She's my best friend and non-traditional companion. I maybe saved her life. But what she gives in return far outweighs whatever I pay in food or vet bills. It is so awesome to wake up with your best friend staring you in the face.
Adopt shelter animals. Really. You can save a life. You can make a difference.
