Community helped make Challenge Day a success

October 27, 2012
Daily Press

This week's bouquets go to:

From the Challenge Day Committee at Escanaba High School:

"The Challenge Day Committee would like to give a big thank you to everyone in the community who generously gave their time and support of the Challenge Day Program that was recently held at Escanaba Area Junior and Senior High School. The program is having a great effect on our students, staff and community members. You helped to "Be the Change."

From the Holy Name teachers and staff:

"A very big thanks from the Holy Name teachers and staff to all those who made it possible to attend the MANS Conference in Grand Rapids. Your cards of encouragement and treats for the bus were so appreciated. We felt so loved and please know that your kindness did not go unnoticed. God bless you."

From the Eskymo Fan Club:

"The Committee for the Eskymo Fan Club Pasty Sale would like to send out a big thank you to all the volunteers, athletes, students, parents, teachers, coaches, cooks, vendors, younger siblings of athletes, sorry if we missed anyone.

It was another successful sale of over 6,000 pasties. We couldn't do this without all these people taking the time and helping out for such a good cause, to help the Eskymo tradition live on.

Thanks again. Anyone interested in volunteering, jump on board, its a lot of fun."

Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.

We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.

Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they've done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.

They may also be sent to us by going to our Web site, www.dailypress.net, and clicking on the submit news button. Once there, click on "Bouquets" and follow the simple instructions.
