ESCANABA - Michael D. Treder, 60, 300 S. 7th St., Escanaba, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 24, 2012, at his home following a fall.
He was born on Oct. 27, 1951, in Omaha, Neb., son of Wayne and LaRue (Beguh) Treder. Michael grew up in Ironwood and attended Northern Michigan University where he earned his master's.
Michael married the former Susan Delpriorie on Dec. 18, 1993, in Ironwood, at the old family home.

He had a love of listening and creating music, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
For many years, Michael was employed with the State of Michigan as a rehab counselor and psychologist.
Michael was a person that was always willing to help others and had an infectious laugh. He was a loyal friend and loved deep relationships.
He is survived by his wife, Susan of Escanaba; children, Ian of Marquette, Kyle of Plymouth, Mich., and Steve (Tami) Treder of St. Paul, Minn. and Jenn (Matt) Riggio-Perry of Negaunee; grandchildren, Logan, Max, Linnea and Micaela Treder and Bella and Addisyn Perry; sister, Debbie (Mike) Hahn of Ironwood; and brother, Pat (Sue Ann) Treder of New Mexico.
A celebration of Michael's life will take place on Saturday, Oct. 27, which would have been his 61st birthday, at 6 p.m. at Hereford and Hops in Escanaba. His family would encourage his musical friends to bring their instruments to join in what Michael loved, music.
Memorials may be directed to Goodwill in Michael's name.
The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Treder family with arrangements.
