I want to thank all candidates in all our local elections this fall. That we in this area have choices in almost every race between honorable, hard-working citizens is positive for our local communities.
This is especially the case in District 2 of Delta County where Steve O'Driscoll is running against incumbent Ryan Holm for Delta County commissioner. Both these men have proven themselves to be honorable and assets to our community, but on election day only one vote for one person in this race can be cast by each constituent.
I am highly recommending a vote for Steve O'Driscoll. I have professionally served with Mr. O'Driscoll for the past three years on the Gladstone School Board. I have served on our Labor Team with him during that time and have worked closely with him in crafting multiple collective bargaining agreements with our various employee groups.
I can confidently promote Mr. O'Driscoll to the voters as someone who listens, works well with others, and respectfully crafts policy built on consensus, respect, and inclusion. Steve and I are polar opposites politically speaking - but time and time again I have come to trust his expertise and experience, and time and time again he has proven himself to be a caring elected official who can work productively within groups containing diverse opinions and values.
These are the most important attributes a candidate can possess in these politically fractured times. I am proud to call Steve O'Driscoll my friend; I am proud to call him a professional colleague. For these reasons, I am respectfully asking voters to cast a vote for Steve O'Driscoll for Delta County Commissioner on Nov. 6.
