The Altrusa International Foundation is celebrating its 50th birthday. Enriching children's lives through reading was the goal when they received a matching grant to purchase children's books for the Gladstone School and Public Library. Altrusa volunteers, Frances Michaels and Sharyn Deuel, at left, and library director, Lori Wells, at right, share the new books with a few Gladstone students, Josh Rosa (junior high) and Alaina Trudeau and Anna Scheeneman (Jones).
