Tom Sabor is a nice guy. Rick Micheau is a nice guy by all that I have read in previous letters to the press. I have known Tom Sabor my entire life. We both grew up in North Town. Being a "nice guy" does not qualify you for the county treasurer's position. What qualifies you for that position is education and experience. The county treasurer deals with millions of taxpayers dollars and I believe the person holding that position should have both. There is a big difference between running a few businesses with an associates and computer degree to having experience with dealing with millions of taxpayers dollars, having a bachelor's degree, a master's degree and being a CPA. Computer degrees don't matter with the county anyways because they have BS&A software and you can't learn that system at any college in the U.P. Tom already has that knowledge from his experience as county treasurer for the past year and the specialized training he has had for the BS&A system.
It is up to you to vote for the best candidate and the way I see it, the only candidate who is truly qualified for county treasurer is Tom Sabor.
