ESCANABA - Mary E. Dube, 88, of 1023 6th. Ave. S., Escanaba, Mich., passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. She was born May 11, 1924 in Laurium, Mich., and was the daughter of Wallace and Marion (White) Hibbard. Mary lived in Laurium and the L'Anse area until the age of seven when her family moved to Escanaba. She graduated from Escanaba High School in 1943.
The former Mary Hibbard married Raymond Dube on Oct. 21, 1950, and he preceded her in death on April 29, 1984. Mary was employed with the city of Escanaba for 29 years until her retirement in May of 1986. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the R.C. Hathaway Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 49, the Elks Lodge 354 Auxiliary, and was a former member of the Terrace Bluff Golf Club. Mary enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and reading.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the First Presbyterian Church in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Mary E. Dube will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Scott White officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services in the church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the First Presbyterian Church, the Delta County Cancer Alliance or Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the Anderson Funeral Home or at the church the day of the service.
