During October 2012, Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI issued an Encyclical promoting the year through Nov. 24, 2013, A Year of Faith. So the first question is "What is Faith." Faith is a gift of God. That gift, which includes our Christian religion, states that God the father is the creator of Earth and the universe which includes all life. Through the gift of free will and intellect, included in the gift of faith, it helps us to seek the truth in all things - confirmed in His Total Love that is responsible for individual love.
Through His son we are taught the basic truth of the Sacraments and Ten Commandments given us in scripture and tradition. Now how do we apply the renewal of our faith with those sacramental truths? In our journey of faith, we learned through memory and hopefully applications. Unfortunately unless this teaching has endurance, we are apt to be caught up in our culture. Thus we have weakened our Christian religion and need a clearer understanding of faith principles and its application.
The renewal of faith then becomes our extended goal for our journey. We must understand completely that the gift of faith is our belief, which his total love energizes our motives individually and collectively to be present in our actions, words and deeds in our daily journey.
Yes God must be 24-7 in our journey. As the saying goes; "If you don't use it, you lose it."
Today we have many opportunities to profess our renewal of our faith. We stand for life. Without the creator, who is in control, we do not have a beginning or end. We can effect affirmation for our faith by voting in the upcoming election by voting for life.
May you be fully enlightened in your Christian religion with a firm commitment in your renewed faith.
