GLADSTONE - Police are asking for the public's help in locating a vehicle involved in a hit and run accident in Gladstone Sunday evening. The driver of the vehicle that was hit was not injured.

A 78-year-old Gladstone woman was driving south on 9th Street when a Chevy Blazer crashed into the right front side of her vehicle at 5:40 p.m., according to Gladstone Public Safety.

The suspect vehicle was traveling east in the alley between Delta and Minnesota avenues behind Main Street Pizza when the accident occurred. After impact, the driver of the Blazer did not stop but backed up and continued eastbound in the alley toward South 8th Street, said police.

Police are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect driver and his vehicle - a tannish/pewter-colored four-door Chevy Blazer with damage to its front end. The driver was said to have a mustache and was wearing a leather biker-style hat.

The victim did not seek medical treatment. Officers transported her to her home.

Anyone with information on the suspect or his vehicle is asked to call Gladstone Public Safety at (906) 428-3131.
