ESCANABA - Two fine exhibits are on display in the Bonifas Fine Arts Center's Galleries.
In the Powers Gallery, Peanuts At Bat spotlights the art and heart of the world-famous Charles M Schulz cartoon strip. Organized by the Charles M Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, the display clearly shows Schulz's love of baseball, minimalist style of art, and understanding of the human condition. Baseball was one of Schulz's loves, and he used it every year to demonstrate the frustrations and delights of life.
The show is on display through Oct. 31.
Viewers of the Lake Effect member display at the Bonifas will see a variety of media, including woodwork, fabric, watercolor, and oil painting.
In the Studio Gallery, a multi-media exhibit shows works by members of the Lake Effect art group of Manistique. From fabric collage to paintings and unique carved wooden pieces, this show is worth seeing.
There is never a charge to visit the Center or tour the Galleries, partly through the generosity of Greg and Linda Yagodzinski and special help from Escanaba Moving Systems.
Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
