Don’t resort to name-calling

October 19, 2012
Daily Press

This is in response to Sharon Gray's letter on Friday, Oct. 5. She states that the Republicans are telling lies, then proceeds to tell us the policy points that Representative McBroom has campaigned on. She did not give one example of a lie that anybody connected with McBroom has told. She may disagree with his policies, but like so many others, instead of debating facts, they resort to name-calling.

To call someone a liar is still something very serious. Nowadays, you just have to "walk it back."

The Obama campaign advisors called Romney a liar. Obama has called Romney a liar. Well, he said that Romney didn't tell the truth. It really is the same thing. If you can give examples of lies, then you ought to be quiet.
