Candidates get ready for forum

ESCANABA - Local candidates are preparing to face off in a forum tonight.

The LWV, AAUW, and Chamber of Commerce of Delta County are inviting the public to the November General Election Candidate Forum tonight from 7-9. The forum will be held in the Escanaba City Council Chambers.

Participants are Michigan House of Representatives 108th Congressional District Ed McBroom (incumbent, Republican) and Sharon Gray (Democrat); Delta County Treasurer Tom Sabor (appointed incumbent, Democrat) and Rick Micheau (Republican); Delta County Commissioner District 3 Mary Harrington (incumbent, Democrat) and Robert LaFave (no party affiliation); and Delta County Commissioner District 2 Ryan Holm (incumbent, Democrat) and Stephen O'Driscoll (Republican).

Written audience questions will be collected during the forum. The moderator will be LWV Delta County member Patricia Frueh. Local radio station WDBC/WYKX and television station Charter Communications channel 8 will broadcast the forum prior to the Nov. 6 General Election. The dates and times for the rebroadcast will be announced at a later date.

The November General Election is Tuesday, Nov. 6. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Nov. 6. Voter information will be provided to the public through both the League of Women Voters printed Voter Guide and via an online Voter Guide. The printed version was circulated through the Daily Press on Monday, Oct. 15, and the online version is available by accessing Vote411.org and choosing 'my ballot.' Copies of the printed Voter Guide are also be available at the Daily Press office and at local libraries.
