MANISTIQUE - Travis J. Gillingham, 33, of 207 1/2 S. Cedar St., Manistique, Mich., died Oct. 15, 2012, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Jan. 19, 1979, in Iron Mountain, Mich., the son of Ronald and Patricia (Bosanic) Gillingham. He lived in Colorado, Oregon and Wyoming as a child and moved back to Manistique 22 years ago.
He attended Manistique area schools and was a graduate of Manistique High School with the Class of 1997.

Travis was employed as a construction handi-man and was training to be a butcher at Jack's Fresh Market prior to his illness.
He was a member of the Manistique Eagles Club. He enjoyed playing pool and horseshoes, fishing and hunting, and building bonfires at camp.
Travis is survived by his mother, Patty (Kirk Price) Bosanic-Fox of Manistique; father, Ronald (Catherine) Gillingham of Rawlins, Wy.; maternal grandparents, Joe and Clara Bosanic of Manistique; paternal grandfather, Kenneth (the late Lois) Gillingham of Manistique; sisters, Angela Myers of Rifle, Colo., Christa Dickinson of Mountainview, Wy., and Lillian James of Rock Springs, Wy.; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins,
Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique. Services celebrating Travis' life will follow at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Lon Hider officiating.
