Rifle misidentified

October 11, 2012
Daily Press

EDITOR:

A lot has been said about the photo on the new hunting and trapping digest on both Bill Moore's radio show and Tim Kobosic's article. I noticed something everyone else missed. They incorrectly identified the rifle held by the woman, it is not a Winchester model 94, but a model 94 A E. This is obvious because the scope is centered atop the receiver, if it was a M94 it would be offset to the left. The M94 A E has a manual safety and can be carried "cocked and locked" as the rifle in the photo is. The gun is safe.
