BESSEMER - A Bessemer man accused of murdering his wife this summer is scheduled to be arraigned in Gogebic County Circuit Court on Tuesday.

Kenneth Wayne Peters, 50, was arrested in August in connection with the death of his wife Ethel Grzena/Peters, 79, who was reported missing earlier that month. Following an extensive search and investigation, her remains were found on Aug. 13.

Peters was bound over last month from district court to circuit court on the following three charges: first-degree murder/multiple theories which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole; second-degree murder which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison; and abuse of a vulnerable adult, second degree, which carries a maximum punishment of four years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

During his arraignment on Tuesday, Peters will be given formal notice of the three charges against him and will enter a plea to each count or stand mute. A pre-trial conference will take place at a later date to determine if the case will go to trial or be resolved with a plea.

Peters remains lodged in Gogebic County Jail where he is being held without bond.
