ESCANABA - Davey Juhl and the former Nancy Beyersdorf were united in Holy Matrimony 50 years ago on Aug. 11, 1962, during a ceremony held at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Escanaba. Rev. Philip Kuckhahn presided.
Attending the couple were the late Karen (Beyersdorf) Chaillier, sister of the bride, Kathy (Juhl) Christianson, sister of the groom, Karen (Wickstrom) Gouin, a friend of the couple, Harold Juhl, brother of the groom, the late Gary Porath, cousin of the bride, and Lawrence VanEffen, brother-in-law of the groom. A reception in honor of the couple was held at the Sherman Hotel in Escanaba.
The Juhl's are the parents of three children, Bruce (fiance, Candace) of Glendale Heights, Ill., Mark (Janet) of Escanaba, and Christine of Schaumburg, Ill.

The couple also has five grandchildren, Kristin, Nicole, Lindsey, Jeremy, and Jordan.
An anniversary celebration, hosted by the couple, was held for their attendants at the Four Seasons Resort in Pembine, Wis. Their children surprised them with a two-night/three-day stay at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.
Now retired, Dave was a former Harnischfeger employee and was also self-employed in plumbing and heating.
Nancy was a homemaker while raising the couple's children, but had also worked at the Health Department, U.S.D.A Farmers Home Administration, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters throughout the years.
