Montgomery graduates with honors
GRAND LEDGE - Katherine Montgomery, daughter of George and Laurie Montgomery of Rapid Riverk formerly of Monrow, graduated magna cum laude on Jan. 21 from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She made the dean's list and honor roll each term she was at Cooley, and earned certificates of merit in Research and Writing, Scholarly Writing, Advanced Writing, Constitutional Law II, Torts II, Business Organizations, Federal Administrative Law, and American Legal History.
Katherine graduated eighth out of a class of 351 students. She served as a student assistant to Michigan Solicitor General John Bursch, a research assistant to Cooley Professor Patrick Corbett, and a student representative for LexisNexis. She was sworn in as a member of the State Bar of Michigan in May and now serves as an Assistant Attorney General for the Michigan Department of Attorney General.
She is a 2008 graduate of Hillsdale College where she graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in political science and Spanish. She is also a 2005 graduate of St. Mary Catholic Central in Monroe and a 2001 graduate of Zion Lutheran School in Monroe.
Katherine is the granddaughter of Ruth Meyer of Monroe.
