Police investigate fatal accident

Pedestrian, 73, killed in Bay de Noc Township

BAY DE NOC TOWNSHIP - Investigation continues into the death of a 73-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle in Bay de Noc Township Thursday morning, according to Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post.

The man was walking on New Wilsey Bay Road when he was hit by a pickup truck driven by a 31-year-old male from Rapid River, said troopers who responded to the 8:15 a.m. emergency.

Officials were not releasing names of the victim or the driver this morning.

The accident is being investigated by the state police traffic crash reconstructionist from Marquette.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Delta County Sheriff Department, Masonville Emergency Medical Services, Rampart Emergency Medical Services, and the Delta County Victim Advocates Unit.
