GLADSTONE - It was a fairly close matchup between the Gladstone Braves and the Munising Mustangs Monday, who made up for Wednesday's cancelled game. But the Braves prevailed, coming away with a 5-3 victory.

"Munising's coach does a great job," said Gladstone coach Rich Trombly. "They were missing a few girls and we had all we could handle.

"Both teams were rusty with not being able to play for a week. We should play better as the week goes on."

The Mustangs took both No. 1 and No. 2 singles in three sets. Munising seemed to correct their errors quickly, because after Gladstone took the first set in both matches, they came back to win the next two.

However, the Braves nearly swept the doubles matches, with Munising only coming away with one win.

Gladstone's No. 3 singles Lauren Parrett defeated Carla Nottmeier 6-3, 6-4, and No. 4 singles Cassandra LaMarche beat Adele Gendron 6-2, 6-0.
