ESCANABA - Elvera S. Kickbusch, 100, of 1401 N. 23rd. St., Escanaba, passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at Christian Park Village in Escanaba. She was born July 12, 1912 in Hermansville, Mich., and was the daughter of Andrew and Ruth (Swanson) Johnson. Elvera graduated from Escanaba High School in 1930. The former Elvera S. Johnson married Donald F. Kickbusch on Nov. 5, 1938, at Calvary Baptist Church in Escanaba and he preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2010. Elvera and Donald were married 71 years. Elvera was a life member of the Calvary Baptist Church since 1923 and she was dedicated to her church and her Christian faith. She enjoyed weaving, quilting, sewing, and gardening.
Elvera S. Kickbusch is survived by: two daughters, Rowena "Wendy" Kickbusch of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Sharon (James) Ellisor of Hayden Lake, Idaho; one son, Kurt (Cindy Ottensman) Kickbusch of Cadillac, Mich.; five grandchildren, Shari Hoggatt, James Ellisor, Janet Ellisor, Kyle Kickbusch, Kevin Kickbusch; nine great-grandchildren; one sisters, Ruth (David) Campbell of Cornell; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brother, Lloyd Johnson, and sisters, Lucille Erickson and Lillian Hanson.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Elvera S. Kickbusch will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Swillum and Pastor Eugene Slagstad officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services at the Calvary Baptist Church in Escanaba. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
