Forest D. ‘Budd’ Wells Jr.

HOLIDAY, Fla. - Forest D. "Budd" Wells Jr., 85, of Holiday, Fla., passed away on Sept. 11, 2012. Born in Escanaba and raised in Powers, he moved here from Ormond Beach, Fla., in 2000. He retired as an operating engineer after 40 years. He was a heavy equipment operator on the Alaskan Pipeline and on missile sites in Amchitka, Alaska, and in Tucson, Ariz. He retired from Local 302 in Ankorage, Alaska, and Local 324 on Detroit, Mich. Budd owned Lit-L-Noc Cash Market in Stonington for 18 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rite and a Shriner in Marquette. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1429 in Tarpon Springs, Fla. He served as a merchant marine during World War II in the Philippines and Japan. He enjoyed gardening and deep sea fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Emily; two daughters, Cindy Wells and Debbie Kennedy of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; son, Gregory of Diamondhead, Miss.; six granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.
