GLADSTONE - Lewis E. Ware and the former Shirley E. DeLano were united in Holy Matrimony 69 years ago on Sept. 17, 1943. The couple were married in Florida while Lewis was serving in the Navy.
Lewis retired as a manager of United Steel and Wire Co. at the age of 59. His hobbies include fly fishing and square dancing.
Shirley is a homemaker and enjoys knitting and square dancing. She is a member of Convis United Methodist Church.

The Ware's are parents to three children, Vivian Lea Ayers of Gladstone, Jeff Ware of Rapid River, and the late Bruce Ware. They also have two grandchildren and four great-children.
