Raymond J. Vanders

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. - Raymond J. Vanders, 80, of Brooksville, Fla., passed away Sunday afternoon, Sept. 9, 2012, at home.

Raymond was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Gladstone the son of Omar and Isabelle (Guimond) Vanders. He was united in marriage to Betty Nynas on Dec. 20, 1954.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, Betty, survivors include: daughters, Cynthia Vanders of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Robin (Richard) Carpenter of Morley, Mich.; sisters, Isabelle Bricker of Bay City, Mich., and Delores (Fritz) Bolz of Elkhart, Wis.; grandsons, Jason (Tara) and Derek (Christin) Carpenter; three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, his sister, Maxine Broussea, preceded Raymond in death.

Raymond's family will receive friends on Monday, Sept. 17, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services will follow at noon with Rev. Fr. Emmett Norden officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
