Wilson in Halifax summer opera workshop program

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia - Escanaba resident, Alex Wilson, was selected to participate in the Halifax Summer Opera Workshop program in Halifax, Nova Scotia this summer.

He performed in several operas, performing the following roles: Quince in "Midsummer Night's Dream" by B. Britten; Calais in "The Harpies" by M. Blitzstein; and Lawspeaker Snorre in "Gisela in Her Bathtub" by Weisensel/Cavanagh.

After auditioning and being accepted, participants in HSOW were tasked to arrive to the program with their roles memorized and ready for three weeks rehearsal followed by a week of public performances.

Alex Wilson is a senior at Lawrence University and will graduate in June of 2013 with two degrees: vocal performance and anthropology. He is the son of Tim and Cathy Wilson of Escanaba and the grandson of Tom and Donna Wilson of Gladstone.
