CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - Richard Hart Hughes, 76, of Cape Canaveral, Fla., passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, while biking on a beautiful trail near Kewaunee, Wis. He was born June 21, 1936, in Pennsylvania and was the son of Benjamin and Margaret (Thompson) Hughes.
He married the former Kay Kaiser on Dec. 27, 1959, in Oshkosh, Wis. Dick was employed at Kimberly Clark most of his working life until his retirement.
He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid bike rider. Dick completed multiple fund raising riding events with his bicycle for the American Diabetes Association.

Richard Hart Hughes is survived by: wife, Kay; daughter, Heather Gurganus of Wilsonville, Ala.; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son Richard and brother Benjamin.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Richard Hart Hughes will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Harmon of the Central Methodist officiating.
Because of Dick's dedicated support of the American Diabetes Association by riding 60 plus miles in their Tour de Cure for the last four years to raise money for finding a cure, in lieu of flowers, Kay and Heather would like any donations to be made to the American Diabetes Association in his memory.
