DALLAS - Kathryn Perrin Nolden, 81, died with family by her side on June 26, 2012, in Dallas. Katie graduated from Escanaba High School in 1948, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Texas Women's University.
She married William F. Nolden in 1950 and they lived in Milwaukee before relocating to Dallas in 1967. They also lived in St. Charles, Ill., Essen, Germany, and Milan, Italy, before retiring to the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard.
Katie was an avid art collector and artist, and notably studied art with Sister Thomasita at Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee. She and Bill instilled the excitement of boating in their family, spending summers on and around boats of all kinds. She had a passion for travel, and with her husband visited nearly every continent, making many friends along the way.
A consummate gourmand, she delighted in entertaining and was an expert bridge player. Above all Katie was a devoted wife and mother, sharing her love of art and zeal for life with her children and grandchildren.
Katie is preceded in death by her husband, William F. Nolden, Sr.
She is survived by her sister, Jane Shafer of Chalfont, Pa.; by her three children and their spouses, Bill and Missy Nolden of Venice Beach, Fla.; Jane and Bert Zinkand of Lakewood Ranch, Fla.; and Nancy and Tim Snyder of Chicago, Ill.; and by her grandchildren, Bill Nolden III, Al Zinkand and Bob Nolden.
Interment Service for Kathryn "Katie" and William "Bill" will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at Holy Cross Cemetery.
